My drawing of Ra's Phoenix mode from Yu-Gi-Oh!
The text is Ra's third effect as translated by Seto Kaiba in the Japanese version of the anime: "In an instant, god shall become a phoenix. And all its enemies shall return to the earth."

For this drawing I wanted Ra to look very god-like. I added alot of light effects, the slight glow behind him and at the bottom and the embers and rings of light, to really highlight the fire. I added the sun like ball of light at the top to try and make it seem more divine and almighty, as Ra is god of the sun. The background was made to look like the darkness that surrounds you when a shadow game is being played as this effect of Ra was only used in the anime by Yami Marik during shadow games.

A truly frightening and powerful creature. Only Ra is able to bring light to a game of darkness. And when it does, you best hope it is on your field…
